The Military Family Support Center (MFSC) is a private not for profit organization with the goal to support military families that live in rural communities removed from the support networks which are inherent around large military installations. The MFSC strives to facilitate the morale, welfare, and informational needs of those military personnel and their families.
The MFSC is able to support these families through established programs of support as well as the maintaining of a support network within the communities served; offering referrals and assistance to families whose needs fall outside the structure of established support programs. Understanding the complex circumstances military families often face, the MFSC utilizes partnership organizations and community assistance as well as their own resources in an attempt to strengthen military families and meet their needs.
The MFSC serves military families of all branches (active, reserve, and guard), as well as members of the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program, as well as surviving spouses and dependents of those Killed in Action. The MFSC is headquartered in Salem, Virginia and focuses on Southwestern Virginia but attempts to meet the needs of military families whereever they arise through partnering organizations.
